LSAT Series: Christmas Ornaments

Greetings from the most stressful week of my husbands life.
The poor guy has so much on his plate. That's why I am doing all that I can to help him out in anyway.

Including crafting for him. Seriously.

In my family, we draw names for Christmas gifts and this year we are all exchanging ornaments. The point is to have them sent before Christmas though. But with Hubby's hectic schedule, it was just another task on a long to-do list for him.

So, I generously decided to take over for him.
OK, so this may be for me just as much as it is for him. But hey, I'm still being helpful right?

Since our budget as college students is non-existent very small, I was in the market for a low cost or free ornament.

And I found it!

What do you think? Too cute right?

I found the idea on Turtles and Tails. Barb's pinecones look fantastic so I decided to give it a go.

I didn't have all the exact materials, so I just used what I had on hand at home. The bases for mine are old tennis balls.

Then, I just followed her step-by-step directions and had super cute pinecone map ornaments!

I printed out maps from Google of each persons favorite place or birth city.

So easy, fun, and free!

I'm so glad I was able to "help" Hubby by taking this load off his shoulders.

Keep going Hubby! Almost there!

  1. You are a rock star! I love that you tweaked Barb's idea and used a tennis ball for your base. Sometimes keeping a marriage strong means holding the fort so that the other can do what they need to. Very cool sista ....

  2. I think they look awesome! When I did them I really wanted to use a place that was important to me and I think you nailed that for your gift recipients.

I also applaud you for using whatever you find around the house. (Though tennis balls don't last very long here with two dogs that like to chew.)

    Good job!

  3. What a great idea (especially for someone who loves maps!). Virtual goals for all the places you'll visit when college life is history :D
