LSAT Series: Christmas Ornaments

Greetings from the most stressful week of my husbands life.
The poor guy has so much on his plate. That's why I am doing all that I can to help him out in anyway.

Including crafting for him. Seriously.

In my family, we draw names for Christmas gifts and this year we are all exchanging ornaments. The point is to have them sent before Christmas though. But with Hubby's hectic schedule, it was just another task on a long to-do list for him.

So, I generously decided to take over for him.
OK, so this may be for me just as much as it is for him. But hey, I'm still being helpful right?

Since our budget as college students is non-existent very small, I was in the market for a low cost or free ornament.

And I found it!

What do you think? Too cute right?

I found the idea on Turtles and Tails. Barb's pinecones look fantastic so I decided to give it a go.

I didn't have all the exact materials, so I just used what I had on hand at home. The bases for mine are old tennis balls.

Then, I just followed her step-by-step directions and had super cute pinecone map ornaments!

I printed out maps from Google of each persons favorite place or birth city.

So easy, fun, and free!

I'm so glad I was able to "help" Hubby by taking this load off his shoulders.

Keep going Hubby! Almost there!

LAST Series: Just Because

How do you and your spouse show appreciation for each other? Every once in awhile I like to do something like this for Hubby.

And I think he likes it...

We had some leftover candy from Halloween. Mostly Dum-Dums, which I am not a fan of.

Hubby loves them on the other hand so I decided to leave little surprises for him in his coat pockets.

Who doesn't love finding an unexpected treat in their pocket?

Give it a try! Do something sweet for your spouse "Just Because"!!

LSAT series: Post-it Notes

I wasn't kidding when I said that Hubby has been studying like a mad man. Most of the day he looks like this. Glued to his books or computer.  Poor guy.

I decided to use the power of suggestion and put little notes all around the house. I did the same thing to help me loose weight for our wedding. I swear it works!

Hubby's goal is to get a 180 on the test. A perfect score. So I put 180's on things like the calendar and his bathroom mirror.

Also the front door and in his closet.

And to be absolutely certain he sees them, I put one in a spot he definitely won't miss.

Good luck on the LAST Hubby! Get that 180!

Star Gazing

Hubby is applying to Law School soon which means he will be taking the LAST next week!

Yikes!

That also means he has been studying like a mad man and doesn't have a lot of time to spare for date night.

No problem! Instead of going somewhere, go star gazing on your porch!

In between study sessions we were able to go out and spend some time looking at the night sky together.

I put tea-lights all around our porch and in our flower boxes.

 Viola! Instant romance!

We waited until Sweet B had gone to bed so it was just us.

It was plenty cold too. Perfect excuse to cuddle while gazing. Hubby was thankful for the opportunity to take a break from studying. And me too!

Make sure to stop by next week. I have lots of little surprises cooked up for Hubby as he prepares for the LAST on Saturday!

Good Luck Mein Schatz!

Pie Party

What better way to kick off the holiday season than with a Pie Party?

This was a great group date!

Each couple brought a different pie or cheesecake and then we ate them! Simple as that.

Hubby was too cute and made me a little message with leftover pie crust dough.

This date is family friendly and could work with any number of people.

I think we may have to do this every year from now on. The kids had a blast too!

Such a simple and easy group date. Enjoying each others company AND some scrumptious pies.
Yes Please!

How do you kick off the holiday season?

Love Notes on the Car

Remember when you and your spouse were still dating? Did you leave each other notes? Because we did! And I loved them! I have saved a few of them too.

Why should they stop once you get married? I love the thrill of leaving a note or finding one from hubby. It makes my day (and his).

Hubby had a test at school today so I stuck a little note on the car before he left. He really liked it.

How about you? When was the last time you left your spouse a little note saying "I Love You!"?
Do it now! The more notes you leave, the more likely he is to return the favor.

P.S. It's free! I love giving gifts that show him I love him. When they are free its even better. Score!

Mini Golf at Home

Hubby has a set of golf clubs. He has not touched them the whole time I've known him. While brainstorming what to do for FNDN I stumbled across those dusty clubs again. So, I decided to put them to use and made a mini golf course at home! It was so fun!

I used masking tape for the lines and used cardboard to hold up our tee.

Some holes were made of cardboard and others were cups.

At the last minute, we invited our neighbors up for a round. We may have to do this again with more couples. It would be a great group date. I'm thinking maybe matching shirts and prizes?

We got really creative and used some of Sweet B's toys for obstacles. Those blocks were pretty intimidating, let me tell you.

No babysitter needed for this date. We just waited until our little one was asleep. And the course was made from objects around the house.

No babysitter + stuff from home + spouse = FREE DATE!

Who doesn't love that?
